Customer Office Hours: 50 Sessions

Twice monthly we host customer office hours over Zoom. 60 minutes. Open Q&A. Any customer can join. We started this in month 2. By month 12 we had hosted 50 sessions. Here is what we heard, learned, and changed.

Key learnings: customers want clarity on Form 5472 (we restructured onboarding to lead with this), Bengali language support is high-leverage (we doubled down on it), banking sequencing matters more than coaching (we built the Mercury Approval Calculator). Office hours drove ~20% of our product roadmap decisions in year 1.

How office hours work

Twice monthly. Wednesday at 10 AM EST (catches NYC + Europe). Saturday at 10 AM IST (catches India + SE Asia). 60-minute Zoom. Open Q&A with the founder (Zawwad). Free for any active customer.

What customers ask

  • Banking strategy: which order to apply (40% of questions)

  • Specific scenarios: dissolution, multi-LLC, equity grants (15%)

What we learned (and changed)

  • Form 5472 confusion: Most customers did not understand the $25K penalty. Fix: moved Form 5472 education to onboarding week 2.
  • Banking sequence importance: Wrong sequence (Mercury when Wise should be primary) caused unnecessary rejections. Fix: built Mercury Approval Calculator to guide pre-application.
  • Bengali support demand: ~25% of office hours questions came from Bangladeshi founders speaking partial English. Fix: expanded Bengali support across all customer touchpoints.
  • Multi-LLC questions: Some customers asked about holding structures we did not cover. Fix: published blog post on multi-LLC strategies.
